FOOD FOR THOUGHT
PSALMS 34:5; They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Welcome to another great week, the end of one month and the beginning of another; you will understand and enjoy the best of God.
This edition is really long but I encourage you to meditatively read to the end with an open heart.
Every time God shines on men; the true revelation of God is seen. The image of God is unveiled for men to see. The revelation of God is Jesus Christ. He is the visible manifestation of the Spirit God.
2Cor 4:4; In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, should shine unto them.
The light of the gospel reveals Christ as the image of God.
All through the Old Testament, the scriptures talked about Christ.
God already had an image and likeness before he began creation so in Gen 1: 26; And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness….. God understood what He was doing. He said let US; meaning there was more than singular so in Gen 1:27; God created man in HIS OWN IMAGE, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
At this point, there was no physical flesh, bones and blood structure until Gen 2:7; And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
The physical structure came from the dust; God moulded a physical house for his image from the dust of the earth. The physical structure of man does not represent the image of God but it houses the image of God. Therefore, God is not white, black, brown, blue or whatever you describe the physical colour of men’s skin today. God is Spirit not flesh.
When man fell, the Spirit of God left man so he saw his nakedness and emptiness in Gen 3: 6-7; And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
The image of God left man and he was left alone with his physical structure. The image of God was His spirit and will never be flesh but will always remain Spirit.
Man was created spirit, soul and body. The spirit is for relating with the image of God who is Spirit. As long as man’s spirit was in union with God (Spirit), man remained the image of God which is God’s plan.
The flesh was necessary because we were to live in a material realm so we had to have what we would use to relate with our realm but outside this realm, the flesh is useless so when a man dies, he leaves behind this flesh which men must commit back to the earth where it came from.
The focus on flesh will continually keep men blind to their real persons and unfortunately, many will never attend to their real persons (spirit) but keep dressing their jackets (body) to their own tragedy but I pray that will never be you.
When man fell, God spoke in Gen 3 15; And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
God promised to send His seed.
He began that process through Abram in Gen 12:1; Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
God raised Abram and started an entirely new nation with him. His aim was to bring for himself a nation that will house Jesus Christ.
Gal 4:4; But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.
Luke 1:26; And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, how shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Jesus was born without Joseph meeting Mary so his birth was not natural therefore Jesus was not a natural child. The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit or Spirit of God planted this seed in the womb of Mary just to fulfill scriptures that he would be called the seed of the woman.
The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit or Spirit of God all refer to the same personality and that is God. Don’t forget that God is Spirit so when God needed to come to earth, he must take on earthly body so He planted himself in Mary’s womb and came through the natural process as Jesus Christ.
Notice here that the real image of God, the real person here is the Spirit of God (called seed) that was planted in the womb of Mary. Gal 3:16; Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ.
That seed that is spoken of in Gen 3:15 was pointing to Christ
1Cor 15:45; And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Jesus Christ is the last Adam who is also a quickening Spirit and the physical revelation of the Spirit (God).
Col 2:9; For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Heb. 1:1-3; God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
In Jesus Christ dwells the fullness of God. Everything about God dwells in Jesus Christ who manifests God to the entire world.
John 8: 19; Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
John 14: 6-11, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me.
John 10: 30; I and my Father are one.
The Holy Ghost came on Mary and she took in and gave birth to Jesus. Beloved, Jesus Christ is the full manifestation of God to the entire world.
Jesus Christ finished his work on earth and rose again as a proof that he defeated death. He ascended to heaven but he returned back to us in his real form as the Holy Spirit.
John 16: 7; Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 14: 16 And I will pray the Father and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;
John 7: 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
The Holy Spirit came after Jesus had left the earth because there was no need of the Holy Spirit while Jesus was on earth. The Holy Spirit is God and Jesus is His physical manifestation so the Holy Spirit is also called the Spirit of Christ.
Rom 8: 9; But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man has not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, he is none of his.
Philip 1: 19; For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST.
The spirit of Christ or of Jesus Christ is the same as the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost and they all refer to God who manifest himself as Jesus Christ bodily.
John 16:13- 15; Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Matt 11: 27; All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
John 1:18; No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
John 3:35; The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
John 5:17; But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these that ye may marvel.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.
(1Corinthians 8:6- Diff Verse)
Philip 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Beloved, this has been a long teaching but I want to encourage everyone to come to an understanding of this scriptural truth and live by this truth that Jesus is the full revelation of God.
JESUS IS THE LORD!
